Ok - Everyone who reads my blog knows that I like my Edward a little on the "Forceful" side. Well The Edward Masen in this fic fits the bill. In fact, after reading the prologue, I wasn't sure I was going to like him at all. He is not only forceful, he's a complete jerk. But I THINK that's why I like this story so much. It's hard to believe that sweet virginal Bella could stomach this monster.

This story plays out like a mystery. I still haven't completely figured everything out about their past. Bella is much younger than the Professor, and is best friends with Alice (Edward's sister). I know there was a past - but I'm not sure to what extent the past goes. Am I being vague enough for you? Well, you'll just have to read the story and find out what I'm talking about.

There is one character in this story that I really like and that is Peter. He is Bella's friend / potential love interest. Normally I don't like anyone else with Bella. But this Peter is sweet and patient and basically everything that Edward is not. So I wonder who she will end up with???

SebastienRobichaud is an excellent story teller. The Universtiy of Edward Masen is a compelling story that is interresting and leaves you wanting more after every update. There are only 9 chapters written so you will have the opportunity to sink your teeth in before waiting for updates, and yet still won't feel like you are being left behind. I suggest you give The University of Edward Masen a read - you will be glad you did.

  1. Ooooh I'm reading this one too, it's excellent. I loved the Velveteen Rabbit references from Peter - that's exactly how Bella comes across, as if she's waiting to be real. Too sweet.

    And I'm glad you like Peter. One of the things I have tried to do in this story is to make the characters appear to be real, and that includes the secondary and tertiary characters.

    We'll see what kind of character Peter ends up being . . .

  6. UofEM is SOOOOOO good! It's a clusterfuck mindgame and I love every second of it. Edward has a designer shoe fetish...man after my own heart. He's an asshole too! I love Assward's.

    I don't like Peter. He creeps me out. I'm not saying why.

    And...drum roll please...this is the second fic where I don't want to kill Bella already. DUN-DUN-DUN!

    I am DYING to figure this mystery out.

    Wow...a rec from you that I am actually not currently reading! I've been rec'd this fic before but it just went on the list that I haven't gotten to yet. I didn't realize we were working with an Assward...hahah. And with a bit of mindfuckery on top of it all? Damn I've been missing out. I would have picked it up sooner had the orginal person who rec'd me the fic taken the time to give me a little bit of info about it.

    That's why I heart ur blog so much. You have good taste in not only the story lines but the writing as well so when I pick up a story u rec I know I won't get sucked in by a good plot and left wanting to rip your hair out due to fail writing. Each rec is a full package.

    Hopefully I will get to this one sooner rather than later. Thanks for taking the time to do this blog! I love it!

  12. This story is a new epic fic on the same level as Wide Awake and Tropic of Virgo. The writing is flawless and compelling. The review is spot on - I cant wait for the next update.

  13. I have to agree with the other commenter that has reservations about Peter. He gives me that creepy stalker/serial killer vibe. He's too good to be true, almost.

    I stumbled upon this fic last weekend and it's been tumbling around in my brain all week. I love it.

  14. Thank you for review! I read this ff because of you :) started to read at 2am and finished at work, can you belive? lol I couldn't stop... What a great puzzle. My friend was reading UofEC at the same time and we were like 'WTF???!!!!!' all the time. There are so many mysteries & these poems, art... Love it. Not mention Assward :) I don't know why, but I love dark, possesive Edwards in ff... and he has shoes fetish *squee* Can't wait for updates.

    You were asking about new fanfics. I just assume you didn't read this one, because it would be here for sure. I'm talking about The Blessing and the Curse by The Black Arrow. I LOVE this story! even if it made cry sometimes. You can read autors' review on site... I have to say that this Edward, or Curseward I should say, is on my The Best Edward Ever list :) He's dark, moody, extremly possesive but very sensitive inside. Oh, and he can hear thoughts, but he has to touch first ;) (it's human ff btw)What else I can say? It's beautifuly written, great language. This is not funny, light fanfic. It has Wuthering Heights mood and Edward is Heathcliff of the story. It gets under your skin. I've read it few weeks ago and still can't stop thinking of it... So what you say?
