DEVIL'S ANGEL BY OBSESSINGOVEREDWARDI’m going to take a minimalist approach to describe this fic: sex & secrets and I like it. Devil's Angel started as a one-shot for the Sexy Eddie Contest in 2008 and has been turned into a full-fledged, hot piece of mysterious fanfiction. This fic will please all you smut-a-holics out there because you'll be hard pressed to find a chapter where there isn't some hot sex going on or at least someone is thinking about it. I'm talking leather, passion, chaps, dirty talk and even some experimentation pretty much from the beginning.
Edward is not a Dom, but he is dominating. Do we get the distinction? He takes control in the bedroom and while Bella is not pliable, she is willing to yield to his control. Though, on occasion, she has taken the lead and has proven to be beneficial to both of them. They meet out of pure serendipity as neither one is looking for anything serious. It's a right place, right time kind of situation as Edward ends up at Bella's bar and Bella ends up taking him home, which is completely out of character for her. The sex that night....how can I say this? Edward definitely leaves Bella dazed and aching in that way that hurts so bad it's good. From that point on it's like tasting the cookie batter while you're baking and you can't get the delicious sweetness off of your mind. You count down the minutes until the oven timer goes off and you can eat the smoking hot cookie, even though it's going to burn your mouth. Edward and Bella can't stop thinking about each other and what happens when they are together and there are definitely some scorching hot moments and some heated arguments once that timer is up.
Yes, yes. I know. I'm the angst girl, so why am I talking about smut? Because first comes smut, then comes a kickass plot about unsolved murders, corporate corruption and damaged upbringings. I won't tell you who is involved in what though. You are just going to have to read and find out. If you know me, you know I enjoy a good plot over smut any day of the week. And this fic has both. That being said, it's the plot that makes me come back. It's the plot that has me stalking my inbox around 2:30am EST every Sunday morning, even if I'm out I'll check my phone. And yes, she does update that regularly. Little things from the reason behind Edward's tattoo. Why are Emmett and Bella so close? What does Carlisle actually know? Who is trying to get Edward out of the picture? These things keep me intrigued to find the tiny piece into the larger puzzle of killing and lies already set before you.
Like I said, updates are once a week. Though, ObsessingOverEdward has said that she will update more frequently once she's done pre-writing the chapters. So there you have it, sex and secrets. Go read Devil's Angel and let ObsessingOverEdward know that Southern Fan Fiction Review sent you.

So I haven't read this, but I did read the one-shot she did that I think was related to this story for the '80's contest. She used Dead or Alive as the song I think and I enjoyed it immensely. I'll have to check it out!

It seems this story has everything a reader like me would want. I would love to see a strong and in-control Edward who is not a Dom. I don’t remember the last time I read a fic like that.
