The Misapprehension of Bella Swan by HunterHunting
Let's see how Hunterhunting describes this story shall we? The Misapprehension of Bella Swan Regarding the Inferior Intellect of Hockey Players: Through incessant stalking and persistence, can Edward wear down Bella's resistance and teach her to embrace her inner puck bunny? A ridiculous love story. AH/OCCTwilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Humor - Chapters: 5 - Words: 34,025 - Reviews: 3991 - Updated: 2-28-10 - Published: 2-3-10 - Bella & Edward

Have you ever known an author that you would read no matter what they wrote? Have you ever known an author that writes a story that you love so much that you start to feel like that author is a friend and not someone who just writes a story you read? Well, if you do, that is how I feel about Hunterhunting. I don't know Hunter, I don't really chat with her, she doesn't really follow me on twitter, I have talked to her a few times via the Twilighted thread - but everything that she writes seems so personal to me that I feel like she is this good friend of mine. Maybe that makes me crazy, but that's how I feel. I love Hunterhunting so much, her story Clipped Wings and Inked Armor was the very FIRST story I ever reviewed on Southern Fan Fiction Review. Here is the link to the review: http://www.southernfanfictionreview.com/2009/08/clipped-wings-and-inked-armor.html  (You really should go read this and see how far SFFR has come, I didn't even USE a picture)  If you haven't read CW&IA then you are really missing out. That story is so gripping and awesome. Hunter has this ability to speak directly to that place inside of all of us (girls) that love our man. CW&IA made me laugh, cry, sit on the edge of my seat, and it was the reason for many friendships I made over Twitter and the Twilighted Threads so trust me - move it up on your list if you haven't given it a try.

Now on to The Misapprehension of Bella Swan. MOBS is NOTHING like CW&IA. Well, I guess it's SOMETHING like it...it has the same author. So this story has the same draw (or pull) as CW. When I see the update hit my e-mail I'm like **clapping** Oh Goodie Goodie Goodie! MOBS is full of something that I am known for loving, can you guess what that is? LEMONS!!! Yea for the story with the Lemons! And they are not just lemons...they are lemons written by Hunterhunting who must have some of the best sex of any one human woman on the face of the planet, because she KNOWS how to write a lemon. MOBS is light and funny. It is an excellent change of pace from most of the angsty fics I have been reading lately. Now, that's not to say that this story isn't a good story! There is plot and intrigue and suspense because Hunter wouldn't let us read just plain old SMUT!

Edward is a Hockey Player for the Chicago Blackhawks. He is like a star player - and you must admit, thinking of Edward as a Hockey Player is HOT. But Edward is not just a hockey player; Edward is a smart hockey player. He just doesn't want anyone to KNOW that he is smart. He is happy letting everyone think that he is a Hockey Stud - even though he isn't really. Bella is the sister of one of Edward's team mates Emmett. Emmett IS a Hockey Stud and he doesn't want Edward anywhere near his intelligent, beautiful, awkward sister Bella. Emmett will KILL Edward when he finds out..... But Bella isn't scared of Emmett. Bella has a mind of her own and she knows what she likes when she sees it!

I hope that you will give Hunterhunting a chance. I think you will find her stories as enjoyable as I have. She is a sweet sincere person that I am proud to call "my friend" - even though she doesn't REALLY know me - LOL!!

  3. I completely agree with your review - one thousand percent! HH seems like - through her writing - the cool kid at school that you wanted for your friend but didn't know how to approach (and NOT the cheerleader!)
CWAIA was awesome. The outtakes are awesome and MOBS is equally fab yet without the angst. I can't wait to see where HH takes the characters.

  4. I love this story too. I absolutely agree with your review, I love Edward as a hockey player, and - I just love this Edward in general. I am looking forward to the 'book' chats that Hockeyward and Snarkella will have in the future.

  7. ITA, Sandy!!! I love MOBS. There was no question of whether I would read it or not, CW&IA is one of my favorite ff's ever. But MOBS stands on it's own. Love Hockeyward & Snarkella.

  10. ITA2! "Hockeyward" is such a RELIEF! I'm filled w/ so much angst w/ my shit-ton of stories I follow! The quippy humor (is that a word?) the lemons and plot are all FUN and not to mention HOT! She seriously has a knack for pulling me right into her stories and instantly loving her E's & B's!
OH, and CW&IA is responsible for the (small as of now) money stash I'm putting back for a new tat! I THOUGHT I was done with two...but not now!

  12. Okay, so Imma reply over here to the comment by Sharon and give you a little bit of background on yours truly. I was totally a goth in high school--well more like a mod-goth because I wore more than just black, but still, you get it right? I went to school with a bunch of beamer driving yuppies and I was way the fuck out there. I definitely was not one of the cheerleaders. And I love Scrabble. Thanks for writing this review sweetie.

You are awesome, and just look at how many people are following this blog of yours!!!

    congrats sweets:)--Gin

  14. I totally agree what you said about Hunter, i loved CW&IA, it had everything in it. Loved Edward & his tatts :P Well when I got the email saying Hunter had a new story, I did not hesitate, went & read it and I am hooked! During the hockey match the other day all I could imagine is how hot all the players were and how Hockeyward would have fitted in LOL yeah I have an active imagination, made the exiting game SO much better ;D
    Great review

  16. I squeal every time I see an update on this story- it is one of the funniest ffs ever. Hockeyward is so hot, but what really makes this story is just how funny and sassy Bella is.

There's supposed to be an update today... I'm trying so hard to be patient! ;)

  17. I too love this fic and my panties get wet when I see it in my box. Although, I love it for more than just the lemony-goodness that it brings. I really love the character build up of Snarkella and Hockeyward. It's truly dynamic how opposite they are of CWIA.
HH can truly write all genres of fic. I love this Bella; how independent and free spirited she is. She's so empowering and knows of her consequences but doesn't give a shit.
This fic is definitely in my top 5 at the moment.
    Bravo!

  19. hee hee... loving MOBS... Great story. Other great fics that have me hooked right now (sorry if these have already been reviewed, but I didn't see them on your website) -- "This is not my life" by "Isakassees" and "Hit by Destiny" by "ocdmess"... Both great stories!
