You would think that writing a review for a story that you absolutely love would make the task a lot easier, but you’d be wrong. Knowing that I love this story only makes me more nervous because I’m afraid I won’t do it justice. After all, how do you review a story by an author that has “awesome” in their name?! Plus, since this is my first review, I’m feeling loads of pressure! Yikes!
Now let’s get down to business. As you can see by the story stats, this fic is not complete. This review is written based on the first 16 chapters. I do not know how the author plans to end the story or how many more chapters will be posted; however, I can certainly tell you that the first 16 chapters are well worth the read.
For me, this story makes me ask, “Do I believe in love at first sight?” and “What would I do?” I won’t lie to you here people, even though I’d like to pretend that if I were to ever meet Edward/Rob in real life, that I could remain all composed and mature. But the God’s honest truth is I’d probably attack him with my tongue and then pass out. So I can’t really blame Bella for succumbing to his sexy powers.
In Last Tango in Forks, we find Bella just existing. The only thing Bella knows of love, lust, and passion is what she’s read about in the fictional smut books she’s addicted to. Bella’s life belongs more to those around her than it does to her. She’s expected to be practical, routine, safe, and dependable; and she’s expected to do all of this with an unsatisfied sex life. As with anyone who is kind, generous, and reliable, the people around her often take advantage of her.
When Bella encounters a beautiful stranger in need, he offers her a chance to experience everything she’s been missing in her life. They find themselves in a moment of need, where they both just need to feel. Just something… anything. Just to feel alive again. Her stranger offers her passion, lust, and desire, with no expectations, strings, or requirements. The question is, once you’ve experienced something so wonderful, can you really go back to something you never loved to begin with? How long can Bella continue to live the lie that is her “real life”, when all she longs for is another chance to enjoy her beautiful stranger?
And how long will fate let them continue with this precarious dance before it decides to intervene? Last Tango in Forks is full of passion and lust. We experience every physical desire through both Bella and Edward’s POV. This fic is rated M for a reason. The lemons are so very juicy and so far there has been nothing that is too taboo for these two lovers to try. When I read this fic it even has me shouting, “Oh, God, Yes!” It is both well written and well paced.
And with that, I bid you a buttery ado – and declare that both Last Tango in Forks and AwesomeSauce76 are indeed worth your time to read.
