This review is written by ssherrill115. From now on, at the beginning of every review, I will announce who wrote it. I have acquired 3 wonderful ladies that will be helping me write reviews for Southern Fan Fiction review. I am so proud of them and love them very much: Snshyne, 107yearoldvirgin, and MeadowC.
Now - let's see how Mrs. Robward describes one of my NEW Most FAVORITE Fics: Bella is a family attorney & Edward seeks her help. Friendship abounds, maybe more? AH OOC Rated M b/c they are adults & will do adult things! Canon Couples. Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Friendship - Chapters: 11 - Words: 67,271 - Reviews: 573 - Updated: 1-20-10 - Published: 10-12-09
The first thing that I can tell you is that Mrs. Robward's description of this story does not begin to do it justice. Bella in this one is a Family Practice lawyer. She assists families with adoptions. She basically is an advocate for the child during the adoption process. She is beautiful, smart, and compassionate - she is the best that Jasper's law firm has to offer. It's not called "Jasper's law firm" but I wanted to somehow let you know that Jasper is her boss.
Edward is a Doctor in this story - (Mmmmmmm Paging Dr. Edward - oh sorry lost my head for a minute). We in the Fan Fiction world seem to love Edward as a Doctor, even though he was never a doctor in the actual stories. There is nothing hotter than thinking of Edward giving you a physical. LOL. In this story, Edward the doctor works for a company called "Partners in Health". He travels around the world helping under-privileged families receive the medical care they so desperately need. Edward has fallen in LOVE with an orphaned little boy in Russia and he wants to adopt him. So guess what he needs......Right, a Family Practice Lawyer. Can you guess who his friend Jasper will suggest helps Edward with his adoption??? I think you can.
There are many layers to this story. I don't want to give the whole thing away; I want you to read it. But I need for you to know that NO OTHER fan fiction story has ever evoked the type of emotion in me that this story has. Almost Doesn't Count is written beautifully. I've never experienced crying before I realized it, just by reading a story. Something as simple as two women meeting for the first time is told so beautifully it brought me to actual tears. The love and the compassion in this story is moving and compelling and I can promise you , that if you give this story a chance - you won't be disappointed. Now, I don't want you to think this is just a simple tear jerker, because it's not. There is some really thick UST (unresolved sexual tension) thrown in there too to keep you wanting More, more, more....
Give Mrs. Robward a chance. I know that you are going to love her, and Almost Doesn't Count as much as I do!!!

PRESENTING........107yearoldvirgin!!!!!!!
Presenting ...107yearoldvirgin! You know her from Great stories like: Into the Mystic, Progress, Maybe and Eight Days a Week (just to name a few). 107yearoldvirgin was the originator and coined the phrase "SleepHumper". She is innovative, relative, contemplative and funny as Hell!!! AND NOW she is the NEW member of the Southern Fan Fiction Review Team!!! She will be reviewing fics for us twice per month. So look for her as well as all the other wonderful reviewers here: Snshyne, MeadowC and (of course) little old Me ssherrill115.
Speaking of reviews...Look below to see 107yearoldvirgin's first review:
Crushed Seraphim by Mrs.TheKing
How does Mrs.TheKing describe this fic? Edward catches a falling star. Bella lands in Edward's arms torn and bleeding Angel's blood. Can he help fix her and restore the world's order? Can something as simple as love be everyone's redemption? ExB Mature, explicit, cursing, playing with religion.
Okay…*deep breath* Hi, I’m 107yearoldvirgin and I’m addicted to fanfiction.
Mostly, I’m addicted to REALLY GOOD fanfiction. And most of you, if not ALL Of you, know that Mrs.TheKing gives good fic. In fact, she’s a veritable force to be reckoned with. The illustrious writer of Poughkeepsie is currently writing two gloriously different stories: GYNAZOLE, which is pee your pants and make awkward snort noises funny…and Crushed Seraphim, which is the equivalent of the Mona Lisa on paper.
Seriously. I love authors who just have beauty in their words. It captivates me. Mrs.TheKing does just that with this story. I am captivated.
Essentially, Bella is an angel from Heaven sent to Edward in a very ‘Christmas Carol’ way. She is supposed to show him his Past. Present and Future in order to save his soul and get him to believe in God. Almost everyone in this story is tragically canon, as far as I’m concerned. This is the Edward that I wish SM would have written. His demeanor, his gentleness, his ferocious undertones…his irresistible lust for Bella that he actually WANTS to act upon. All of these things make me want to do an ‘insert here’ at the beginning of Twilight.
But, Hells Bells…literally. Bella is massively un-cannon here. She’s sarcastic, fiery and angry. She thinks she’s been set up for failure because Edward is probably the hardest project she could have been handed. But, she’s also very canon in the fact that she is most likely one of THE most selfless beings that has ever roamed the Earth. She’s a walking anomaly in her speech versus her morals.
The question here is: Was Bella sent to Edward by way of God? Or another force?
The story line is thick with religious tones and discussion. If you are not open to those things, then tread lightly. The writer takes great liberty with her visions of Hell and Heaven and how things work. I, myself, am drawn to her displays and find it mesmerizing to see how she views things.
If that doesn’t draw you in…Johnny Depp is Satan. Umm…yeah. Try not being tempted by THAT.
What I love most about this story is that you’re rooting for God, Edward and Bella the entire way. She’s broken but a fighter. And Edward wants to better himself for her. The two of them together must, inevitably, save the world. And with as strange as it sounds, it’s an amazing read. Mrs.TheKing also takes review/votes at the end of every chapter to ask her audience where the next chapter should go. It’s like a Choose Your Own Adventure novel…
I mostly read humor, so let me tell you that this Bella has enough snark and wit to keep me coming back for more. The UST is as thick as Georgia red clay. And the story line is intense. Mrs.TheKing knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat: laughing, cringing, sighing and wiping away stray tears. She’s amazing and I think you’d enjoy giving this story a chance. I’m glad I did.

Stranger than Fiction by MasenVixen
This review is brought to you by the beautiful (and angst lovin') snshyne
This is a co-authored fic, but to be honest, I can't tell. It's possible that they share the same brain because there is not a notable shift in their writing styles. And the story doesn't seem to take on a random direction like so many other collab fics I have read. The author's came together based on the idea that they don't like how easily Bella forgives Edward in New Moon. And I get that. I mean, after she saved his ass and they got back from Italy, she should have given him some hell for that nonsense he pulled. They're meant to be right? A little discussion about his actions couldn't hurt.
This fic is the author's take on how The Twilight Saga would progress if the reunion in New Moon had never occurred. Basically, Bella and Edward never reconnected after he left her to lie alone on the cold, wet forest floor. Ordinarily, I don't read Alternate-Universe (AU) fics. It's just not a personal preference. However, I am reading this one and I do like it. Bella is a twenty-four year old author who wrote a book about a teenage girl and her vampire love. Except, unlike Bella's real life, Claire in the book, has a happily ever after ending with her vampire. Edward is a brooding vamp who ex-communicated himself from his family in mourning of the love he chose to leave behind. And rightfully so. Both of them are so badly damaged they are merely functioning for survival and you pretty much yearn for them to reconnect. Though, when they do, I don't think we can expect it to be all sunshine and roses. Bella is not as pliable as she is in Canon and it doesn't seem like Edward is nearly as much of a doormat.
What grabbed me about this fic is the prologue, which I can tell you has happened less than a handful of times for me. In the prologue you already get a taste of Edward's pain and ignorant seclusion. In his seclusion, he is only plagued by the hole in his frozen heart and the memories he longs for. And then, you get the subsequent torture that ensues when he's brought back into the world of the living. Now plagued with reading mind's of humans. What he reads, I'm not telling. What makes me keep reading the fic is Bella's inability to actually move on, despite how she appears to others on the outside.
So we do get some window climbing, flashy cars and the thrill of the hunt. Memories of meadow scenes both good and bad plague the memories of the characters. We get Jasper's ability to calm a room and Jacob's mammoth size due to his wolfy genes. Alice still sees the future and Rose is still...well Rose. I have to warn you that although there is canon characterization, this is not canon. So far there is cussing, there is death, there are limes, there are lemons. I personally am hoping for some hot Edward - Bella lemons in the future. Because if it's even close to the one I've read so far, we're in for a sweet treat. Also, if you thought Canon-Edward was broody, you were wrong. This Edward is a masochistic mess of self-hate and punishment. I am waiting for him to whip out a flogger of wolf teeth and go to town on his own beautiful, marble skin. And I like it. I like it a lot.
This fic is ten chapters in and updates about once a week, which is pretty quick; especially for a collab fic. So you'll never be want for updates.

Interview with angstgoddess003
Talk about "Needs No Introduction"...Let me just give you a brief background about how lucky I am to have the interview below posted on this blog and then I will let you go read it. EZRocksAngel wrote a little fic called "Creature of Habit" I am sure you have read it. Well, I started reading it right after I originally read "Wide Awake" so I have been leaving EZRocksAngel and Angstgoddess003 reviews for a pretty good long while. But I didn't actually start talking to EZRocksAngel (from now on we will call her Angel) until she started writing "Daedalus in Exile" which I have reviewed here on Southern Fan Fiction Review. As a reviewer, you always long to review the big one - If I reviewed books it would be like "Gone with the Wind". But (as most of my friends know) I am chicken. So, I was afraid to review Angstgoddess003 (from now on we will call her AG). I knew she and Angel were friends and I saw Angel do a review on TLYDF. So, I asked her if she would review one of AGs stories on SFFR. And she said "I can do better than THAT..." She really is an Angel. So without further adieu I give you the AG interview conducted by Angel:
AG is on the Left and Angel is on the right. This picture was taken at last year's Comicon.
As I'm sure almost everyone knows AG is my fandom Bestie. She's my Oprah and I'm her Gail. Is everyone tired of hearing about that? Yes, absolutely. We have lots of laughs and serious discussion and we rant and complain and make fun of each other. She talks to my husband (who encourages her love of hikus and the game KFM) and I hide from her fiance. SFR asked me to write a review of one of Sam's fics but I offered to interview her instead--I was hoping I could lure her into a false sense of security and get her to confess her deep inner secrets but...meh. She's too smart for that.
(angel in black/AG in purple)
hmmmm...questions questions questions....now that i have to think of something i can't.... OK:
Q: One thing I want to talk about is the popularity of AngstGoddess003. I know you tell people that you are quiet and a reculse etc. But for serious. YOU ARE. You are just one step away from a cat lady. How overwhelming is this popularity? How has your life changed from a year ago...
1.) Fuck you, I already am a cat lady, and it is mostly awesome.
2.) I don't feel overwhelmingly popular, I just feel more busy than usual, so that whole deduction is just... really weird to me.
Okay stop. Let's clear this up. You don't feel overwhelmingly popular. I get this BUT, I wrote a moderately popular fic. Trust me. You're popularity and my popularity are nowhere near the same. PLUS, people hate you. They make fansites about how much you suck ass. It's almost the equvilent of being on Saturday Night Live. You know you've made it big when you are asked to host the show...in fanfic, you know you've made it big when people start flaming you. It goes a bit beyond flaming with you sometimes (where WA is concerned.) So what is THAT like? It depends on the day and circumstance. Sometimes, it is so fucking hilarious. Other times, it's really baffling. Very rarely do I get truly upset by flames anymore. I'm more upset when normally rational, genuinely kind people hold me to a standard that I can't meet, even though I'd really love to.
A year ago, I was doing the exact same thing I am now, I just had a lot less emails in my inbox. And I was a little stupider.
Q:Name some of the things in your life now that wasn't a year ago or opportunities? (like comiccon, msnbc articles etc...)
Yeah, ComicCon and MSNBC articles are pretty much it. I'm an open book on my Twitter, so I share my happenings with everyone who cares. I haven't been approached by any super awesome celebrities, publishers, movie producers, etc. I'm seriously just like any other TwiFF author, but possibly with more emails. Fucking Christ, I have a lot of emails.
OH! But also, I have a better network now to find clients. Many people already know that I'm a freelance web designer. Fandom has opened me up to a large market that I hadn't been capable of tapping a year ago. IDK if that counts, but it's really great that I can make friends with new people who might also be in need of my services. (BTW I hired AG to make me a killer website for my personal business which she specified to my technotardedness which was just beyond awesome.)
Let's get the dirty stuff out of the way:
Q: WA: how does it feel to have completed this story?
Like I'm forgetting something. Like I left the house this morning and I can't remember whether or not I turned off the coffee pot. Okay. So I don't make coffee. But if I did, it'd totally feel like that. I'm still waiting to go through my PMs and get the big "WHEN ARE YOU POSTING WA EPI?!?!?" It's like a phantom limb.
Q: Name three things you would have done differently while writing WA either in the fic or as an author.
1.) I would have ended it after the gym scene. Or just made it shorter.
2.) I would have NEVER POSTED THE FAKEOUT A/N. There, I said it. It was a dumbass move and I was a dumbass for doing it.
3.) I would have gotten a beta sooner.
meh, WA bores me a little and you've done all that so here are some for the new fics:
Let's discuss your writing process:
Q:I know your fans (coughandmecough) get annoyed when you don't update quickly or start something new. I know personally that you get very inspired and go on total writing jags....like for days...then you exhaust yourself and sleep for 2 days, read 6970808 fics, make 36 banners, and THEN often start something new. I always laugh because I will see you doing all these little things to procrastinate (twitter, formspring, forum stuff) and people get very invovled with AG who is out and about talking and chatting and posting LOLZ Cats when I know what is really going on: TOTAL PROCRASTINATION. Then you go through the process again.
Comments? Denial? Admission?
It's frightening how very accurate that whole assessment was. I'm kind of laughing, A lot. I can't stop the cycles. I find that disrupting them and forcing myself on one thing just makes it shitty. I've learned to go with the flow. I'm currently in a big reading/writing phase, but know that I'll soon dip back into graphics and programming. I can't help it.
Q:In CLM though, you have gone back to a serial updating style...how does this feel?
Well I had a bunch written before I even posted. Now that I'm caught up and writing as I go, I find that the pressure of staying on the deadline is actually really effective for getting it done. I usually do CLM the night before I'm to update, then send to beta on update day. That's probably very quick. I'm kinda intrigued with how much I can knock out if I sit down and start panicking about missing the deadline. Unfortunately, it makes it nearly impossible to focus on other writing projects. Maybe this is a good thing?
Its funny because I will think you are busily working on whichever fic...happily typing along and then you pop up and start rambling about some bizarre senario, some new fic, some fetish you think is intriguing and I respond like this.
Angel: ..... ummmmm. yeah.
AG: And then Edward gets off looking at chipmunks frolicking in the front yard.
Angel:....yeah so, what about the AU?
AG: meh, yeah, I'm not feeling it right now....but these chipmunks...its like Richard Gere...
Angel: have you ever considered medication? They have some you know?
I'll neither confirm nor deny the existence of this conversation...
Q:I saw somewhere that you said CLM was close to you because you have alcholism in your family. Which story that you have written refects you the best personally?
Despite my hatred for it, WA is probably the story that's the most indicative to my personal character. A lot of my circumstances were similar to Edward's, which was unintentional, but true nonetheless. I was also very close to Bella's reclusive behavior. My own inner voice is also very similar to Edward's, so he was always easy for me to channel. I find myself struggling to pull away from that with my other stories to try something new and unique to my published stories list.
Q:What is your favorite fic that you have written?
Great Vexations is probaly my most fave published. My upcoming AU might beat it, though, ngl. I'm really hardcore in love with my AU fic. I think I've really challenged myself.
Q:Explain some ways your writing has evolved. For example, you used to write some massively epic long chapters...in fact you were one of the first I think to write 15k chapters. You know this is one of my pet peeves, as I have a life and can not take this much time out to read stories this long unless I really, REALLY, like them. We have discussed this at length. (and yes, I know we would all read anything AG writes, however long it is... I KNOW!) But recently you have gotten a little less wordy. Discuss:
I think seeing other people write those massively epic chapters really put things in perspective for me. I was like... holy fuck. Do I look like this? And when I say "like this" I mean... aimless. Like you type as you think. It isn't planned or structured, it's just from the brain through the fingertips--which sounds good, in theory, but it isn't. A tighter story is always better. It took me a while to grasp that, but once I did, I don't think I'll ever go back. I forget who said this, but a fellow FF author once said, "Make sure every word has significance." Or something like that. IDFK. Anyway, I really got to thinking about how vital most of the text in my chapter was to the story. Then I began seeing how very un-vital most of the stuff I read was becoming. People like queenofgrey, kathyrindhoops, and stellalunasky taught me that I could still enjoy using imagery and description without making it laborious for the reader.
I also like to think I've grown with internal dialog and showing versus telling. I used to make inner monolgues LOOOONG. Now, I see that it's better, more efficient, and more enjoyable to show thoughts through way of action and REAL dialog than the internal stuff.
Q:At ComicCon you announced very publically that you didn't always read reviews. I know that for a while you didn't...that things were overwhelming. Can you clarify this statment a little?
Well, I guess I should clarify that I don't often read--specifically--WA reviews. I feel like everything that could possibly be said about WA has already been said, tenfold. That might seem a little assy of me, idk, but I think I eventually got to a point where reading them was beginning to sway my views on how I wanted to resolve the story. There were just so many, and so many people being thankful and saying all these nice things. I didn't really know how to respond to something like that. I still don't. My "thank you"s are super inadequate.
I do read reviews for my other stories, though. GV and WtF don't get many, so whenever I see a new one, I always click it and read. I've been doing well with CLM, too. Rising is a small fic with only a handful of readers, but I can't not read those reviews, because they're on my LJ, and the discussion that burgeons from the subject matter with all those strong-willed ladies is always engaging.
Q:When you read a fic what are you looking for?
Relateable characters, solid writing, non-cliched interactions and plot structure, and something--some character, circustmance, situation, etc--that I haven't read before, or that's been spun in a new light. I'm mostly looking for good, non-contrived angst. It's hard to find. I'm not even sure I accomplish it in my own writing. I look for subtle and resonant emotional situations.
Q:What drives you batty (leave this list short please) PSSSSSHAAAWWW

Q:What makes you so excited that I wake up to sixty five empty chat box comments from 3 AM?
-Dry Humps
-Edwards that openly ask Bella to suck his dick.
-GOOD angst.
(note: these are all true.)
Q:You and I both believe in Reccing Fics that we support and we find interesting and different. We both read stories that we do not rec for various reasons but there are certian criteria we both use for actually pimping a fic on a blog, twitter or A/N. -Good writing, characterizations, and all that good stuff.
-Low review numbers help.
-First time stories make me wary. I may wait for 15 chapters with these.
I asked a couple of people to give me some questions here are two (obviously they are tired of hearing you talk about yourself)
I am tired of talking about myself. I'm fucking BORING, jfc.
Q:With your design background it's obvious you are a very creative person. Have you always wanted to write or did it sneak up on you? Do you feel like your visual artistic talent influences your storytelling?
When I was like 10 or something, I wanted to be the youngest person ever to write a novel. This lasted three hours, and then my best friend and I decided to run away and live off McDonalds "free cheeseburger" coupons (Our elementary school gave us 4 each for being on the honor roll), and THAT only lasted 4 hours (We never even made it out the house). Other than this, no. I've never truly had the urge to write fiction.
I used to write some really hilariously emo poetry in my early teens that legit got me sent away to a "hospital where people can rest"... for like 3 fucking months. I think that kind of killed my writing bug. Failing English 2 three times in a row didn't help either.
I always wanted to illustrate and spent like 6 years of my young adulthood trying to not suck (this is ongoing, btw). Writing totally snuck up on me. I figured... FF is obviously experimental anyway, just like when I used to make Buffy fanart and ended up finding a career in graphic design as a result of it. I'll try any medium once.
Q:Is there anything, anything at all that could get you to read fluff?
Oooohlalalalallala, Geekward, or AwkWard. (see....she won't even read my fluff...sniff) Write a Geekward!
Q:If you could remove one "main" character from the series, who would it be and why?
Rosalie? IDK, I think she wasn't developed enough to make her character anything other than shallow and a little confusing. I just never really got her place in the series. At least Emmett had some kind of comic relief, yanno?
Q:what is it about the dry hump that appeals to you so?
It's sex, but not. It's like... all the GOOD things about sex (the UST, the anticipation, the awkwardness of getting that close for the first time, etc) without the messy follow through. Like drinking a Diet Coke. It's not quite the same, but when you're really thirsty? It'll do.
Q:If you came across your very own CML Edward, would you let him repent and earn your forgiveness...even if he wasn't so fuckhot?
I'm a very patient and forgiving person, and a hardcore people pleaser. I'd def forgive him. Probably a lot easier than I should. My fiance is an EPIC grudge holder though, and he has no qualms in holding grudges FOR me. Seriously, once you wrong him (or me), you're fucked for life. It's intriguing. I'm so opposite. (dear god, DW scares me. and i'm pretty sure he hates me as I lure AG down the path of robporn and compulsive dry humpage.) He loves you.
Q:When creating a story, I know you have a lot of ideas running through your mind all the time, even a few stories you're writing simultaneously...what is the deciding factor that tells you you HAVE to complete this one?
When I tell angel about it, and she's interested enough in the premise to be engaged in a ten-hour brainstorm session. Then, the following day, when she brings it up again, I feel like it's worth following through.
Like how I basically just blamed angel for my every Fic ADD moment? XD (touche)
Well, readers, I hope this clears up some things? Taught you lessons about AG and her writing methods? Explained our co-dependent middle of the night relationship forged over dry humps and good fics.
thanks,
angel

I want to Thank EZRocksAngel and Angstgoddess003 for the interview. I appreciate them taking the time out of their busy schedules to help us out. I hope all of you enjoyed it very much. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think, because you KNOW I am a comment Whore....
-Chucks/clothing brand names/paragraphs full of clothing descriptions.
-Song lyrics pasted into the content of chapters. You know the kind: Few lines of lyrics, then Bella comparing her and Edward's situation to the ~very~ deep emotional themes of Blue October. Wash, rinse, repeat, until the song is over and you've been thoroughly gagged to death.
-Gesture repetition. I have a 7 eyeroll per chapter limit. Characters sometimes do nothing but sigh.
-Miscommunication that isn't resolved in 3 chapters or less.
-EPIC CHAPTERS. I know, I've been guilty in the past. I'm reformed. Short and sweet for me. I have emails to read.
-Over-description of actions. I don't care how Edward got downstairs to get himself a drink. It has nothing to do with anything.
-People TELLING me a story instead of SHOWING me a story.
-Fuckwards, period. So hard to find one that doesn't drive me batty anymore.
-Extraneous cockblocking.
-Bella Barbie
-Alice shopping
-Jake/Bella/Edward/Tanya
-Buttsecks (non-slash)
Q:What makes you so excited that I wake up to sixty five empty chat box comments from 3 AM?
-Dry Humps
-Edwards that openly ask Bella to suck his dick.
-GOOD angst.
(note: these are all true.)
Q:You and I both believe in Reccing Fics that we support and we find interesting and different. We both read stories that we do not rec for various reasons but there are certian criteria we both use for actually pimping a fic on a blog, twitter or A/N. Explain the criteria you use when reccing a fic.
-Story must have 10 chapters or more, with very few exceptions.
-Author must not have more than 1 other WIP.
-Story must be updated on an apparent and regular basis. (Twice per month or more is ideal)
-Author must not have a history of flouncing, pulling, or hiatus'ing their fics.
-The story must not be on a path that I deem boring, cliched, or contrived.

Eight Days a Week by 107yearoldvirgin
This is how 107yearoldvirgin describes Eight Days a Week: Bella Swan needs a Nanny. Edward Cullen needs a job. Accepting the Manny position will change his life forever...and may just help him grow up in the process. Snark, humor, lemons and Edward in a towel. Seduction has never been so juvenile. AH/AU Rated M Humor/Romance
OK OK OK I know - I just did a review about a Nanny and now I'm doing a review about a Manny. But the stories are totally different and I am reviewing what I am reading, sooooo that's what you get. I had not planned on reviewing this story for a while. I wanted to let it get a little further in before I reviewed it (it only has 7 chapters written). And I know that if you have been following this blog for a while, you know that I review all of 107yearoldvirgin's stories. (That's because she is so AWESOME and no body makes me laugh like she does.) But this story is so good, I can't hold onto it any longer. When I read the update last night I was in tears laughing so I am giving it to you today as my gift to you - just a little late for Christmas - LOL.
Edward is a Fuck up for lack of a better term. He is basically living his life doing everything wrong. He has used up all his chances and he needs a job like pronto. Bella is an ultra conservative business woman, and Alice's boss. Alice is Edward's sister in this fic per usual. And Bella needs a Nanny like yesterday. She desperately posts an add on Craig's list and guess who sees it? I'm thinking you already know. Bella hires this dude without any background check or anything (shame on Bella). If you are going to hire someone to watch your kids and a good looking British guy shows up, even though you want to bump uglies with him, please do a background check first. Fortunately for Bella, Edward has a heart of gold and he falls head over heels for these kids. Will he fall head over heels for Bella??? I guess you will just have to read it and find out.
107yearoldvirgin has a gift. She can make me laugh like no other writer on the face of the planet. She has the ability to write about some very serious, and sometimes dark, issues and still bring out the humor in our everyday lives. When you are reading her stories you feel like the characters are real live people - because her characters have bad breath, they burp, they even have gas - and 107yearoldvirgin capitalizes on all these human traits to make you laugh at things you might do yourself all while telling you a story and making you feel like the characters are friends of yours. It is a true talent that she possesses and if you haven't read any of her stories, I suggest that you start today. Eight Days a Week is a light hearted story about a guy that turns a hodge podge group of people into a real live family. It is heartwarming and so much fun to read. I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Labor of Love by Lizconno
Let's see how Lizconno describes her fic: Bella returns to Forks, WA to start her life over. Edward is a widower raising twin daughters. When Bella starts to work for Edward, the two develop a close bond that may be ruined by their secrets. LEMONS-- real & imagined Rated-M for a reason AH/OOC
May I just say that one of the reasons I am reviewing this fic (besides the fact that it is AWESOME) is that it UPDATED today. Today has been kinda a slow day in the world of Fan Fiction updates. That makes me sad because I know that there are so many talented authors out there who have just gotten caught up in the holidays and digging out from them to spend time on the one thing that brings joy to so many. So, if you are a writer, please know that we love you and we appreciate you and we are being patient - but we are looking for the update!
This fic is Awesome - Bella is sad and lonely and confused. She has lost her Dad and she has come back to her home town. Not sure what directions her life is going to go. She is well educated and well spoken and Beautiful (of course). Edward is getting over the loss of his precious wife Angela. Together they had 2 beautiful daughters. Edward has been in mourning for a long time and never intends on moving on. He is wealthy, articulate, demanding, Sexy as Hell and looking for a Nanny. When they both end up at Alice's wedding what will happen? Will the legendary electric current grab both of their attention? Will Bella drink so much she almost puts herself in a coma? Will Edward find that "someone" to fulfill his physical desire and so much more? Will ANYONE remember what happed the next day? You are just going to have to read and find out...
Lizconno is an Excellent Author. There are many authors out there that can write a lemon, but how many of them can write a "dreamy lemon"? The lemons in this story are scorching hot - some are real, some are imaginary but all are satisfying. Lizconno is compelling and the story will keep you guessing. You are going to fall in love with this Bella and Edward - I just wonder what will happen next...
I hope you will give Lizconno a try and find out why I love her story so much!

I hope you enjoy the story and I thank you for taking time to read Southern Fan Fiction. Please leave me a comment, because you know I'm a comment whore!

Reunion by KeepersOfTheNaughtySparkle
Let's see how these lovely ladies describe their fic: Edward, once a geek, and Bella secretly crushed on each other since high school. Can their 10 year reunion bring them together? Is one night enough to squelch a decade old passion or will it fan the flames into an unquenchable fire. Lemmony/AU/AH/B
No matter how old you are - we all have that one guy in our past. He may be from High School, College, Middle School, hell he might have lived accross the street from you - but you wanted him and you didn't do ANYTHING about it. That is exactly what this story is about. Making up for that one chance that you let slip by you. Edward and Bella actually get their second chance at love - and you know what....He wanted her just as bad as she wanted him.
This story is written by three talented authors:
Pkitten21 http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1820707/pkitten21
Snozzberryfaery http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1816820/snozzberryfaery
and TFX http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1839524/TFX.
Each of these ladies are busy with their own stories, but they all three come together to write Reunion. I was completely intrigued when I found out that it was written by three people. I couldn't figure out how that could work. I could see 2 girls coming together to colaborate - but three? It seems like too many cooks in the kitchen to me, but "The Keepers" have come to this kitchen with a recipe for success. This story is AWESOME! Since this was a colaboration, I wanted to do something a little different with the review. I wanted to maybe interview them a little. I asked the girls some questions (via e-mail) and this is how it went:
Are you guys Real Life Friends (do you know each other outside of FF)?Yes, we're friends, although we've never met in person. We all met as moms on a Baby Center Twilight thread. We practically share a brain (odd), and we seem to have synced to one another in many ways, though we're in 3 diff states! We do skype and chat over the phone. Even though we’ve never actually met, we're all very close and feel very fortunate have found each other.
What made you decide to write a story together?
After getting kicked off our Babycenter Twilight Thread by a bunch of prudes that felt we were too vulgar (Hahaha ummm, yeah we are.) decided to start our Forums. Pkitten21 had already started beat-ing for Snozzberryfaery's story Love Loss and the Impossible because she's a grammar geek. TFX and Pkitten21 were both terrified to write on their own and with Snozzberryfaery having some experience with her own story, one night during an online chat we were discussing all the bad fic that was out there and they figured they couldn't do much worse. We all have our strengths that we bring to the table and we seem to compliment each other. In the beginning we were flying by the seat of our pants…Snozzberryfaery was our strongest and most confident writer, TFX was our lemon writer (Snozzberryfaery and Pkitten21 were terrified of writing lemons) and Pkitten21 was the proofer. We’ve all gotten better at everything, and helped each other get to where we are now, which is a fairly comfortable place.
What brought you to the world of FF?
For many different reasons. Some of us needed more E/B, some of us just got recommendations on Babycenter, and a certain h00r just couldn't let it fade to black and needed some sexing. After reading we were all hooked. It was like an endless supply of our favorite characters, always up to something new.
What is the hardest part about writing a story together?
Not knowing exactly what the upcoming chapter is going to contain, if it's not your week to write. That, and trying to make sure all of us are on the same page for direction and content. We have the same idea in the long run, but how it plays out each chap is ultimately up to the one whose turn it is to write. We have something unique that just works. We've even had a marathon 8hr skype rewrite of a chapter. We bust our asses to maintain cohesiveness, continuity, and make sure the story flows. It's a group effort, and sometimes it IS hard and isn't always perfect, but it's worth it!
Have you ever gotten a review that shocked you (good or bad)?
It was surprising to see the variety of reactions to our characters. A lot of ppl dislike our Bella. That surprises us. The most recent shock was when a reviewer called our Edward "Doucheward". Come on, GeekWard is the sweetest! We've also had a review allude to the fact that we had copied this story. Really, there isn't much in this Fandom that hasn't already been done, but you don't find a fic where Bella breaks glasses under her ass during sex and airport photo booth sex everyday. Lastly, some of the responses to Bella's emotional journey and how they coincided with some of their own relationships with their parents have been very moving.
What gave you the idea for Reunion?
We were chatting online and one of us took the first chapter and had been talking to a friend about a recent 10 year HS reunion and since we all seemed to have a weakness for guy in glasses it sort of grew from there. In the beginning it was more of a round robin type story just handing off the chapters to the next person. About four chapters in we saw that we actually had something and started to map out the story.
Who is your favorite FF author (all three of you outside of each other)?Snozzberryfaery- I could never name just one. I have faves I love for their stories, but I don't like them personally, and other stories I've stumbled upon and loved but can't remember the authors name(sorry). I do most of my FF reading on my iPhone, and it's a pain to try and add faves or alerts, but I have a TON.
TFX- Ummmm, yeah I can't just name one, talk about Sophie's Choice. Top 3(in no particular order): Lolashoes, AngryBadgerGirl, and ilsuocantante
Pkitten21- ninapolitan, lolashoes, and TallulahBelle
If you could say anything to your fans what would it be?
Thank you for reading, and we appreciate each and every one of you. We were a little worried that nobody would even read the story, and are just blown away that anyone would want to read it. If the general opinion or reaction to this story had been less than favorable, we might not have kept going but we've got such amazing readers, some of who review and tell us ( thank you) or chat with us on twitter. We love to hear your opinions. It's a great feeling to have someone say that they really love the story. Also, we adore Geekward and some of the best compliments we have ever received is being told that he is some's favorite Edward of all times.
I thought about cutting down the interview and giving a regular review for this story, but everytime I tried to cut it, I didn't have the heart. I enjoyed reading it - so I thought you might enjoy it too. Go and read Reunion, I think you will be glad you did!

Superman Complex by Cevuplay
This review is brought to you by the lovely (Angst Lovin') Snshyne
The author describes the story like this: Edward Cullen is a rock star in the biggest band of the decade. He’s America’s “It Boy,” but he’s still unhappy. Will Bella be in time to save him? AH AU
I was trying to decide on an angsty fic to read for a few weeks and I have so many on my list, but I wanted something different than the typical angst plot. This story was rec'd to me by the beta, the_glory_days, who is just an awesome writer and an even more awesome person in general. Her story, Alphabet Weekends is in my top ten and you really should check it out. Here is the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4918784/1/Alphabet_Weekends
You know those fics where you have to read like the first ten chapters before you decide if you really want to keep reading it? And even then, you continue to read it because you stuck it out for those ten chapters so you feel like you should continue just based on principle? Superman Complex is NOT one of those fics. Not even halfway through the first chapter I was itching to get to the end and then onto the next chapter to see what happens next. A majorly, tragic event occurs at the very beginning that fuses Edward and Bella together based on unconventional, psychological circumstances. He needs her, he depends on her and she willingly makes herself available for his every need.
I know a lot of readers like that strong, forceful, dominant Edward. The one where confidence oozes out of his pores and he's just utterly irresistable. Guess what? You still get that with this Edward, but it's not a constant in the story, which makes you appreciate it all that much more when his winning personality shines through. He cycles back and forth between a childlike innocence to a charismatic, twenty-something hearthrob, complete with the crooked grin, and the transitions are fascinating. In my opinion, this Edward is more like a real person you can fall in love with rather than a completely idealized, fictional character that we have no choice but to fall in love with. But that does not make him any less special. He's very easy to connect with and be drawn to. A person who is hurting, but finds strength outside of themselves to start to heal and hopefully finds love in the process.
I like this Bella and I think you will too. She's ballsy without being a bitch, but still maintains that fragile innocence that is associated with her character. That inherent selfish streak associated with canon-Bella is absent and she doesn't take advantage of Edward's feelings. All wins in my book. Cevuplay does a great job maintaining that balance in her characterization of Bella. Too many times we find a Bella who is either a simpering wimp or a raging bitch, neither of which are my cup of tea. She is the one person who can help Edward recover and she's not afraid to take matters into her own hand to make sure he heals into the best man he can be. In the process, she learns a lot about herself as well.
Something unique about this fic, other than the entire psychological plot, is that cevuplay picks the names for the songs and writes the lyrics to them as well. So many times when a song is used in a fic, I gloss over the lyrics because I already know them. But in Superman Complex, you actually need to read them because they are not already known and they add so much to the story. Something else I like about this story is that it's not only angsty, but it has some humor weaved throughout. Or, perhaps I am just that jaded. Nonetheless, there is some light in this fic (usually provided by Emmett) and I appreciate the delicate balance that cevuplay has created.
As for updating, cevuplay doesn't really have a schedule. However, she tends to have an update once a month and more towards the end of the month. She states in nearly every chapter that Superman Complex is her pet project and that speaks for her commitment to the project. Waiting a month may seem like a tough thing to do, but it's worth the wait as each chapter thus far shows a good progression and there doesn't seem to be a bunch of lulls and filler floating around waiting for the major plot line to kick in. Like I said, not even halfway through chapter one I was hooked. I've talked to cevuplay and she's a sweet girl. Wicked genuine and unassuming. How refreshing!!
