Did you read Clipped Wings & Inked Armor? How about Library Rendevouz? How about are you reading The Missapprehension of Bella Swan? Well, if any of these things are true, you are familiar with Hunterhunting AND Antiaol. These two Ladies are a Hoot! I have read all their stories and I follow them on Twitter and I read the threads and the blogs. What I'm sayin' is I LOVE THESE GUYS!
A Couple of weeks ago I did a Twitter Poll and I asked "If you could ask your favorite author any question what would it be?" Now the Twitches that answered didn't know who I was going to ask. Then I Twitter Polled again and I asked "If you could ask Hunterhunting or Antiaol any question what would it be?" The following are the questions that came directly from the wonderful world of Twitter:
*Going forward Hunterhunting is Gin (her real name like Gin and Tonic which is so fucking cool), and Antiaol is Bri. Gin is in Purple and Bri is in Red!
@ScarletBlondepr Do they picture rob as edward when they write smut? How do they feel about toys?
Gin: Yeah, Rob is the dude I picture, at least his face is the one I see, but I know for a fact that Bri doesn't.
Bri: She knows me so well. No, I don't picture Rob. Ever. I don't picture any one actor or model, but I've selected the closest I can find for each of the stories I've written. But the Edward in my head is always the same, sometimes younger, older, more badassy or whatever, but generally the same. And he's a fuckton hotter than Rob. ;)
Gin: You are a blasphemous h00r. but I still love you.
@AndyMCope How do they feel about the use of sex toys? Does their smut writing come from real life or imagination?
Gin: Sex toys are a big huge thumbs up for me. HUGE. I love them. I recently went to a sex show and bought myself a glass dildo and I love it, it's my new favourite. The smut comes from my imagination for the most part, but that doesn't mean some of the experiences aren't mine.
Bri: Yeah, I'm all about the toys, but I don't use them on the regular. I prefer my hubs fuckawesome tongue, if ya know what I'm sayin'. As for smut writing, yeah, I mean sure some of it has come from real life, but for the most part, it's just my imagination.
@WannabeBritish What's the best toy the own? Where's the most random place they've had sex?
Gin: I have an aswesome glass dildo that I am totally in love with. It's my favourite thing ever. Um, most random place I've had sex. A rock quarry.
Bri: This http://bit.ly/c5NZOt is my favorite toy. You see all those little nubs? UNF. As for the sex, I don't really do random places. I live vicariously through my perverted characters.
Gin: I'm really surpised that you didn't comment on the rock quarry, I would have thought that garnered a huh but clearly I am enough of a perv that it isn't all that surprising.
Bri: You know what, I really wasn't at all surprised. hahaha
@cereuleanblue How do you find inspiration when the ideas just won't flow? Do you prefer to type or handwrite or a combination of the two?
Gin: Music and porn are my muses. I type pretty much everything unless I have no computer access, then I'll write in point form or jot notes for ideas and such. Writing by hand is so cumbersome and takes way more time, plus you have to type it up anyway so what's the point?
Bri: Yes, exactly what Gin said. It's rare that I write it down, but if I do, it's in my Hello Kitty notebook (thanks KM), because I like to be devious like that. As for inspiration...if the ideas aren't there, no amount of porn, dirty pictures or music is going to make it so for me.
Gin: Truefax on above, I can't force ideas to cum. They just arrive.
@mycompass7 do their signifcant others(if app) support them with this?! or help them with idears?!
Gin: Hubs supports my writing, he's not much of a reader, but he's happy that my stories are being read and the feedback is generally positive.
Bri: Yes, he's very supportive and reads everything I write. He hasn't read any others, but if I forwarded something to him, he would. And, uh, yeah, he's been very enthusiastic about some *ahem* research I've needed to do.
Gin: Yeah, I think you need to keep on with the research there girl. Starts with a b and ends with secks.
Bri: BAHAHAHAA - roger that. I'm lagging behind. And for those that know anything about the Manal Decks outtake for LR that hasn't been, they're well aware how much of a slacker I've been.
@ScarletBlondepr their feeling on buttsecks and slash.
Gin: I feel good about both. I don't read a lot of slash yet, but I don't actually have much time to read anything, so that sort explains why that is.
Bri: I've never experienced either, but enjoy the idea of both. ;)
@LisaCA707 what type of feedback they appreciate the most in reviews
Gin: I really like it when people comment on characterization, or how the story evokes feeling or sensation. That type of feedback is extraordinary, and I love it.
Bri: M'hmm, defs what Gin said. I love when anyone reviews - it's fabulous even if it's just "great chapter," but the ones I smile most about are the ones that are well thought out and constructive. I love hearing what people love about the story, but I also love when they say "I don't know wtf you're doing here...but I'mma trust you anyway."
Gin: Yes, exactly. I think in CW&IA there were so many plot twists and so much angst people freaked out about what was happening in the story. With MoBS people are pissed about all the cliffies, which I totally understand because I'm as relentless as Hockeyward's dick about them, but there's this level of trust I have with the reader that I didn't before. It's nice when people say, "okay I know that things are going to be okay so I'll deal with your shit right now, but please let the beaver have some wood soon."
Bri: The beaver jokes will never get old.
@CanuckGirl_ when she starts writing, is the whole story in her head already, or does it evolve while writing?
Gin: For CW&IA I had a vague outline with definite points I wanted to cover, but it wasn't developed chapter by chapter, for MoBS I've outlined the whole thing because it's so much easier to write when you have a clear vision. CW was clear in my head, but without a blueprint it spiraled more than I would have liked, and became monsterous to write.
Bri: I think you have to let it evolve somewhat to stay true to the characters. With LR, I didn't really have an outline until I was about half way done, and even then it was very simplistic. With SBC&B, I have an extremely detailed outline and it is so nice to write from it. But at the same time, I need to realize when I have to let the characters lead the way and sort of put my preconceived notions on the back burner and just go with the flow.
@cereuleanblue What kind of lemons do you prefer, graphic or ones that leave more to the imagination?
Gin: Definitely ones that leave more to the imagination *snort* no really, clearly I'm visual, I like to be able to see it all taking place as I read.
Bri: I actually prefer ones that aren't so over the top graphic. I mean, I enjoy those, too, don't get me wrong. But I do like when not every moan or grunt is spelled out. And, quite frankly, I'm jaded. I don't want to read: "OGinGinGinGinGin MAAAAAH GAWDDDDDDD, EDDDDDDDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M CUMMMMMMMMMMMING!!!!!!!!" I mean, honestly. Leaving a little to the imagination is sometimes a good thing.
Gin: Bwahahaha, ILY. I think she's been over exposed to my lemons. That's why I've been writing other, much less graphic ones for some stories, because they can't all be porno scripts.
Bri: Oh please...like I'd let you post something heinous like that. *scoffs*
Gin: Right-oh, because my lemons aren't graphic at all, not one tiny little bit. Or is this just the dialogue you're talking about. I went back and reread one of my lemons recently, just to you know, get some *coughcough* perspective on them and JEBUS, I am really a huge pervert. I can't even imagine what it would be like if say, my parents found out about the stuff I write.
Bri: Sister, I hear that. As for the graphic...ness, that doesn't bother me. It's when things are poorly written and over the top that I roll my eyes and vom up my lunch. You, my dear, have never caused such a reaction.
Gin: I'mma hump your leg right now if that's okay with you.
Bri: I would enjoy that very much.
@ScarletBlondepr I'd ask my her writing process, listen to music, tv, do u write based on a fantasy that needs to be fulfilled.....
Gin: I need music to write, it always helps with the mood of the piece. I definitely don't think that CW&IA would appear in any of my fantasies, maybe the sex, but otherwise no thanks--not really interested in being addicted to script meds and being a completely OCD fucker. As for MoBS, this one is more fun, but I don't think I would want to date a Hockey h00r and wind up on the covers of newspapers, it's just not my idea of a good time.
Bri: I guess I don't really have a process. I generally have my earbuds in, but not always. When I wrote LR, I NEVER listened to music, but I find it does help, if nothing else to block out all the outside stimuli. As far as writing based on a fantasy...um, not really. The smut in some, sure, but the storylines? Nope.
@cereuleanblue What piercings or tattoos do you have?
Gin: I have four tattoos: my astrological number and planents, a frog for happiness, a wolf for endurance and a dolphin for guidance. I have my ears pierced but I'm pretty much allergic to all metals so I rarely wear earrings. I used to have a tongue ring and a clit ring back in the day. I would do the clit ring again. In a heart beat.
Bri: I'm pretty boring...only one tattoo and just my ears pierced. Used to have my belly button done...back before my kids stretched the shit outta my stomach. And I've thought about the clit ring, but I'm waiting to see if I outgrow that want. If not, when Gin and I meet up again, perhaps we'll get matching clit piercings. *snort*
Gin: That's such a fantastic idea, and it's so romantic. We could even get matching barbells.
Bri: I obviously love the shit right outta this idea.
Gin: I'm so all over this idea. I totally want to do it. Get my clit repierced that is.
Bri: Spring is commmmmmmmmmmming.
@cereuleanblue What was your inspiration for CW&IA? How much did you write/outline before posting?
Gin: I outlined after I posted the first chapter. I had the first two chapters written, and by the time I posted chapter 2 I was nearly done chapter 4. I was never, ever ahead of the game, which is not the best plan. It's always good to be able to revise as you post and that was impossible with CW&IA. It sort of spiraled out on me and I think there is a lot of it that could be cut out, but it's all a learning process. It's the first complete novel I have ever written.
@ScarletBlondepr is she sick of cupcakes already? I'm just kidding (but that would be funny)
Gin: I hardly ever eat cupcakes. I love them, but I don't eat them. And I don't like choclate ones at all.
Bri: This is a true story. I've seen her pass up chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting (which were like soft, moist, delicious heaven) in favor of plain, boring vanilla.
Gin: I feel the need to defend myself here, I would rather eat a vanilla cupcake, but I'm not likely to enjoy vanilla in bed all that much.
Bri: I don't think anyone thought you enjoyed vanilla in bed, what with your lemons and whatnot.
Gin: Sigh. ILY. I need to buy a sex swing, or maybe a stripper pole. Do you think anyone would notice that in my bedroom?
Bri: Well, if they're in your bedroom, perhaps they would be inclined to use them with you? *wiggles eyebrows*
@jael728 what was her inspiration and how did she come up with the concept? How much researching did she do?
Gin: There was this accident on the news once, where this couple in India got married, it was a huge wedding with about six hundred people attending. The temple collapsed during the ceremony and everyone died. It was horrific, and I couldn't get my head around the horror of it. There was another incident where the bride and groom were on the way to the church for their wedding. The bride and bridesmaids were in one car and the groom and groomsmen were in another. A tractor trailer jackknifed and the bride and the bridesmaids were killed on impact. How horrendous would that be? Anyway, I pulled the idea of Bella's loss from those tragic events and then worked in Edward's own horrifying past, added a shit load of tatts and piercing because, well, I just find them incredibly sexy and really quite beautiful.
Research? I did a lot, particularly on tatts and aftercare, as well as piercings, I have some of both but there are so many different practices, I felt like it was essential to the story for me to get the feel for it. Not everyone will agree with the methods used or my portrayal of the characters, but this was my vision and I went with it. I also did a lot of research on anxiety disorders, medication and OCD. I tend to work with a lot of people with varying degrees of this issues, so the firsthand knowledge is helpful.
When the Twitches ran out of questions, I turned to the one person I know I can ALWAYS count on to help me out. The following questions are from our wonderful angst lovin' snshyne:
I'd probably ask Gin more about her tatt/piercing experience or obsession or if she's as anal as tattward
Gin: I'm getting another tatt soon I think. One to cover up some of the one's on my back I'm not all that fond of and a representation of my daughter. I'm not as anal as Tattward thank God for that. But I'm a little OCD--example, I have to start chewing food on my right side and finish on my left, I know this is really, really strange and because I have sensitive teeth when I eat cold things I can only chew on my left. It makes me feel unbalanced. I'm also a lot spastic about being tidy. I hate it when everything is out of order, it makes it difficult for me to concentrate. Having a kid has serious impacted that and I tend to let things slide, but when I can, I clean valiantly.
Bri: You said anal.
Oh antiaol her inspiration for Library Rendezvous?
Bri: I honestly don't know. I'd been wanting to write for a while, but I didn't have any ideas. And then the Valentine's Day contest came about and all of the sudden it just hit me like lightening. I wrote the original o/s in an afternoon.
Ask her why she chooses different people as the representation for her Edward, Bella, etc?
Bri: Because I read the books (all but BD) before the movie had been cast. And I was sorely disappointed with the actor choices. I guess everyone was just a whole lot prettier in my head...
Gin: RPattz is sexy as fuck, although I am definitely a fan of the fuckhotness that you post at the meat locker, and I can understand your need for someone with a little more beef. *coughhockeywardcough*
Bri: *nod nod* I like 'em built.
Why/how they got into twific
Bri: I was waiting for The Book That Shall Not Be Named to come out and I needed more Edward. So, I started looking online for whatever I could get my hands on. Seriously - I was obsessed. I imagine I looked like something close to a cracked out junkie looking for their next fix. I went through SM's website, reading all the shit she had there, and I think I got linked to Twilight Moms and from there to FFn. And then my whole world kersploded and so did my vag.
What kinds of environments they write in?
Bri: I generally write in my living room, lounging on my chaise, with my laptop propped up on a pillow on my legs. Ear buds in, no TV on, kids in bed. Or, I rock it out at Panera.
To Gin @chartwilightmom if you could give Rob a tatt or piercing what would it be (where) and do you think he would be a pussy about it? She would also like to know about your Education your background – she says you write with wonderful words. This is a really big fan of yours...
Gin: Hands down it would be in his dick. Fuck yeah. **nods to self** Tattoo? I like sleeves a lot, like a whole lot so I'd say a half sleeve but I think he would be a wuss about it, so maybe a little one on his hip sort of pointing to his dick.
Bri: I might be able to get on the Rob bandwagon if you got his wang pierced... I'm not so sure about the fruity tatt, tho...
Gin: How about a tatt on his arm then? I'mma fan of those, something cool there or maybe a back piece. I love back pieces a lot.
Bri: I LOVE back tatts. I'd be all over those. And bicep tatts. And chest tatts. Unf.
Gin: My education? I have an honours BA in English with a minor in drama.<--This this make me sound like a pretenious fuckwad? My diploma has been sitting in a filing cabinet somewhere for the better part of a decade, I've had no urge to frame it or anything, so I hope that helps redeem me a bit. I'm a huge fucking nerd and I love to play Scrabble. My job allows me to work with a lot of learning disabled individuals and also those from less that privileged backgrounds. I see a lot of trauma on a regular basis, so the angst wasn't really all that difficult to write.
To Both of you – These questions are from me (Sandy) Just some stuff I think some of our readers would like to know...
Are you married or single gay or straight children or no?
Bri: I'm married to someone my friends refer to as my very own Edward (he does have the tall, lanky build going on and sex hair down, that's for sure). And I have two boys. Yes, I'm greatly outnumbered.
Gin: I'm also married to a dude and I have a daughter who is quickly approaching two years of age.
Do you have pets and what kinds?
Bri: Nope, no pets.
Gin: I have two white cats that shed all over the fucking place. It drives me insane, but they are cute as hell, so what are you going to do? One of them is polydactly, she has two extra toes on each paw which makes her more than a little awkward.
What part of the world do you live in – are you native to that environment or how long have you lived there. Do you like it – if you could live anywhere – where would it be.
Bri: I currently reside in the 'burbs of Chicago. Nope, not from here, but a transplant. And, nope, we don't particularly like it. If the damn economy would get its ass in gear, we'd like to move to a smaller (yet not too small) city. Living anywhere? I dunno...I'm up for giving anything a go.
Gin: I live in Ontario, Canada--that big state in the north. I've always lived in Ontario, but it's fucking huge so moving around is pretty common. I used to live really close to the US Border, but now I live closer to the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). It's a busy place and honestly, if I could live in a slower part of the province I would.
Do you work outside of Fan Fiction? What kind of work (not specific) teacher, office worker, janitor
Bri: Yes, I do. But if I told you what I did, the CIA would have my ass.
Gin: Ditto on the above. I'm like a secret-agent ninja. Not at all really, but you know, I think that kind of job would be cool.
Bri: Plus, you get really hot outfits.
Gin: oooh, I never thought of that. I would love a hot ninja outfit.
If you were giving a gift to someone very special to you and you had to choose a book to give as a gift what would that book be?
Bri: I'mma assume that the person in need of a book is a sheltered and non-sexed up Mom. So, I'll say Twilight. *snicker*
Gin: I'mma say porn, maybe with visuals and an accompanying story, unless that important person was my grandmother. Then I'd give her a copy of Reader's Digest or something.
Same question and you had to pick a movie (dvd)?
Bri: It depends on who it was for, and what their personality was like... I mean, I don't want to give an incredibly morose person like...I dunno...The Green Mile or something, kwim? Plus, I have so many favorites, it would be supah hard to choose. But, I'm mostly an ass-kickin' or a laugh-my-ass-off movie kinda girl, so probs something in one of those genres.
Gin: My favourite movies are Legend or Labyrith, so I'd give those to someone, but again it all depends on personality. I would never give my husband a horror movie, but I would totally give him one where there are boobs flashing on the screen because he loves boobs and hates horror. BOOBS. Sorry, I'm so juvenile sometimes.
Same question and you had to pick a cd?
Bri: Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes
Gin: The Cure, Disintegration
If you could actually be any character in the Twilight Saga – who would it be and why?
Gin: Edward, because his mind is a fucked up place to be, plus he gets to listen to people sexin' it up ALL THE TIME. The perv in me would totally take advantage of that.
Bri: I'd say Edward, too. Mostly because I'd really like to get in his head and see what it's all about. And cause I'd like to know what it feels like to jerk off.
Do you write professionally? Would you like to? What types of books would you write if you could?
Bri: Nope, I don't. Would I like to? Sure, I mean, I think most people who write FF have some sort of a desire to write in the long run. Now if only I could come up with a plot that didn't have a certain bronze haired hottie...
Gin: No I don't write professionally, would I like to? Uh, sure. That would be cool if I could do the one thing I really enjoy and make money doing it. What would I write? I don't know. I mean, clearly I enjoy writing erotica--very, very graphic erotica, but I actually started writing CW&IA because I needed a break from an originial fic I was writing that fits into the teen fic genre. Talk about cockblocking the fuck out of oneself. I needed an outlet, CW&IA became that outlet mostly because I wanted to see if I could write porn. Apparently I really enjoy it, a lot.
